I know! it's been a long time and I apologize. The latest episode has some technical problems that will be apparent when you hear the episode. I'm working on resolving those problems but there's also been another thing that has caused a traffic jam that ultimately will be to everyone's delight - when the announcement comes, all of the RWTD podcast friends will be excited. With that said, I'm shooting for a Thanksgiving release of the Joe Satriani episode.
I must say being able to see you on tour and making such great music really gives me and many something to look forward to.Hope to see you again soon in Boston or Hampton or Gloucester.I am gonna try and check this RWTD out.I may even buy a shirt
Hey Dweezil! Loved every second of the early years bundle. I'm not a Hagar era fan at all (no judgement here, just not my thing) but I am super curious about the 5150 transition and in particular how the record was conceived: I remember reading (maybe in Dave's book? ) that Dave had already worked on some of the stuff that eventually ended up on 5150 but wasn't really feeling it for whatever reason. Do you know much about that/were demos made/ and is it something you'll explore in your 5150 episode? Thanks ! Lee
EVH did have his own Destroyer that became the Shark Guitar. Apparently he didn't like the sound as much after he chopped it up and asked Chris Holmes (from Wasp) if he could borrow his stock Destroyer. That is the guitar I recently got to play and it sounded great!
Sorry to hear you are having problems accessing the content. If you are able to listen to the podcast from your bundle you should've been able to access the live stream and now the archived video. Are you able to watch the video in the archive? https://newdweezil.rewardmusic.com/videos We will help find out the cause. Same for you Thunder Muscle.
Hey Man, Greg & PATTI Neske (New York) here...cool that your doin the Van Halen thing..sorry I never bought the podcast..I dont buy things on the internet..but I listened 2 afew of the clips on you tube..good stuff..if I was gonna ask a question it would be..have u ever gone 2 one of your sisters yoga classes..?(before the virus). hope everyone & everything is alright..hi 2 Megan & Rollo I wear the shirt & hat I got from Megan all the time..I got a compliment (spelling?) on them 1x in barnes & noble.. see ya when things get back 2 normal... Did you ever talk to Ed about his approach to soloing? Revisiting a lot of these albums since October and learning a lot of the solos on guitar (especially the first album) seems that he has a natural approach to improvising similar to a jazz musician...on "I'm The One" you see him switching keys throughout his solo and even as simplistic as outlining triads on "Runnin' With the Devil." Could this possibly been an influence from his dad?
Dweezil, Can you teach us that first lick Eddie played when you met him as a 12 year-old kid that you immediately memorised and still play to this day? Thank you!
Hi from Paul in Whistler.eh. I really miss your shows at The Commodore; I hope you do too. Please allow an old man a bit of a rant. I've seen you about 10 times and every time I know I am seeing something from the Realm of the Greats. Once in a while I wonder if they might have an off night; but Not a Bit of It: Real Composer. Real Music. Real Musicians. Gobsmacked Again.
The hard part of the modern age is finding Real music and the more Iisten to Frank the better he gets. Thanks for the Hot Rats Sessions. My first real concert was Frank and Mahavishnu Orchestra... I wish I could remember more but I was a suburban hippie on acid...
King Crimson is in there too... SO let me repeat myself and 'Special Request' ...
How about "21st Century Schizoid Man". It is still a song for The Anthropocene... and it has killer Sax for Scheila,,, bring back Cian for some Killer lyrics. Once upon a time you did some Zoot tunes and stripped down to bass and drums for a bit: I heard you play with John Wetton and Bill Bruford.

Best, DZ
I thought the Destroyer that he used on Women and Children First was the one he cut up and made into the shark?
Maybe this is the one he borrowed from Chris Holmes? Or maybe he means "the model" used by Eddie.
After he cut it up, Edward didn't like the sound as much. He did borrow Chris Holmes' guitar for some recordings.
I must say being able to see you on tour and making such great music really gives me and many something to look forward to.Hope to see you again soon in Boston or Hampton or Gloucester.I am gonna try and check this RWTD out.I may even buy a shirt

Hey dz...van Halen is great...but I would like to ask you plenty of questions about your dad...is that possible?...hope you’re doing well...dd

What do I have to click on to see the Dweeze?
A direct link was emailed to bundle subscribers.
I got the email, but can't access the stream yet. Has it started?
No link!!??
I didn't see that the blog was up. Is there a way to set a preference to get an alert when new blogs are posted? Thanks!
Did you ever talk to Edward about Randy Rhoads? What did he have to say?
Has it started? I cannot seem to access it. Thanks!
