Comanche!

I saw umphreys in 12” and I was blown away and the guitar player jake had an orange g&l s-500. It was my first time really seeing or hearing one in person and I knew I had to have a g&l. Though I didn’t want to copy jake because I already was so influenced by his sound. I tried an asat(g&l tele) and was amazed at the neck but didn’t pull the trigger. I than found a Comanche on CraigsL and went and checked it out. I was hesitant though cause I didn’t know what those zcoil pickups were all about. But I went home with the guitar and it honestly took me a second to get to know how it worked and it’s characteristics but within a few months I didn’t want to play anything else. I don’t think it’s the best tone in the world for anything specific but it feels the best all around for me. Of course I’m looking on YouTube about a year later and jake decides to copy me and get a Comanche and I thought it improved his sound so much! now I was really just a bad imitation! So I stopped listening to umphreys and really tried to move my brain away from that influence because I thought people might think I’m too much of a fan boy. But these days I don’t care I just love this guitar too much and umphreys has some of my favorite pieces of music still!
