Haven't been on the site in some time, I can't speak to what DZ has been ip to these last few years. I always catch him when in the NYC area though.
Can't say I'm shocked Dweezil is not delivering on promised material. The ZPZ 2008 tour promised a download of the show attended. There were myriad excuses for the delay. DZ did provide a "free" download of the Chicago show but the one I attended never materialized. DZ had even responded to a tweet years later (right as the Winters doc and Vault restoration were announced, interestingly enough) saying he was working on providing these shows to we who paid a ticket premium for this. This never happened.
DZ: Love you man, but if you are taking money for things you can't deliver on, that is bad look.
You know what? I would happily have paid $51.50 for just the Satchel episode alone. (That guy absolutely slays me.) I’m all good because I agree with the others this podcast is a treasure trove of insight and knowledge about the greatest rock guitarist who ever lived. Psyched for the last episode, whenever it gets completed. I appreciate the fact that it isn’t being rushed. It deserves whatever creative time is needed to make it great.
It's easy to be a customer and just be upset you didn't get everything you paid for that was advertised and I get that.
For me though, $51.50 has been a deal even with the hiccups, because I know Dweezil'a had a lot on his plate between the pandemic, this podcast, the computer issues that came up, his studio build, planning and mounting (I think) two tours after it was finally safe enough to tour again (saw you at the Warfield, Dweezil), and that's just the public facing stuff. There's been real life going on for all of us in the interim too.
I'm on board for everything he's able to give us on this so far and much of it has given me a lot of repeated listening enjoyment (listening to John Shanks while I type this), so I'm ok with waiting for the rest.
I am curious if we'll see more fractal presets because I've been loving the VH1 and VH2 presets so far and have had fun cannibalizing to make my own presets for 1984, etc, but since I know it ain't easy running your own shop I think I'm on the patient side of the clubhouse over here.
